On August 2, Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) received the esteemed Exceed CSR Award 2024 in recognition of its exceptional Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) performance in all of its operating areas. At an event hosted in Hyderabad by the Sustainable Development Foundation with funding from the Indian government’s Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, former IICA DG Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee was present to present the award to JSP President and Group Head (CSR), Prasant Hota, by Telangana Agriculture Minister T. Nagaswara Rai.
Chairman of JSP, Naveen Jindal, on the announcement of the award to JSP, said, “Sustainable improvement in the quality of life of the local community is embedded in the vision and mission of Jindal Steel & Power. Pursuing our guiding philosophy of ‘People First, Nation First,’ we always strive to make a positive impact on society and the environment, ensuring that the lives of people and the quality of biodiversity are consistently transformed to the next better level.”
He expressed his gratitude to the jury as well as Team JSP Foundation, under the direction of its Chairman Shallu Jindal, for their tireless efforts to turn his idea of inclusive development into a major accomplishment. Additionally, JSP’s Angul unit was recognized for exceptional accomplishment in environmental preservation with the Steel Sector Gold Award. JSP has been carrying out a number of integrated social development initiatives across a broad variety of sectors, including education, healthcare, skill development, women’s empowerment, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability, through its social arm, the JSP Foundation. Recently, the steelmaker received the ASSOCHAM Odisha CSR & Sustainability Excellence Award.
