JSPL Foundation is the executing arm of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. group CSR activities, which works for sustainable improvement in the community’s quality of life. The Foundation strives to drive and execute community care projects to nourish the lives of those we touch through our multidimensional holistic projects while also performing the social responsibility of JSPL in nation-building.
It is led by Ms Shallu Jindal, wife of JSPL Chairman Naveen Jindal. Shallu, a disciple of Padmavibhushan Gurus Raja Radha and Kaushalya Reddy, is a highly accomplished Kuchipudi danseuse and a noted social contributor. She has been honoured with many awards for her outstanding achievements in Indian classical dance (Kuchipudi) and contribution in art and culture, education, and community development.
By her admission, JSPL Foundation’s objective is to bring about a meaningful change to the lives of the underprivileged across the country and strive to integrate them into the mainstream. This mission has no geographical and social boundaries, and JSPL Foundation is open to working in any part of the country.

The Foundation conducts programmes at the state and national level through the Swayamsiddh and Rashtriya Swayamsiddh Samman. We felicitate grassroots level community leaders contributing to nation-building and communicating the JSPL Foundation’s overall objective to the nation. The Foundation has instituted a unique initiative called SwayamShilp, wherein a series of workshops will be conducted across India, thereby providing artists from the tribal hinterland of the country with a national platform.
“I believe that there is no end to the contribution one can give for the betterment of our society. Working towards the upliftment of the underprivileged is the best way to serve mankind. What we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But, it is each drop that together makes the ocean. Today, we are here tomorrow our future generation will carry forward the work of the JSPL Foundation. The journey will go on”, she said.
