On Sunday, the JSW Foundation opened a Trauma Care Center at the District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) in Jharsuguda as part of its CSR effort of JSW BPSL Sambalpur Works. This is a major step towards improving the city’s healthcare services. An official news release states that the JSW Foundation and the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Odisha, are working together to establish the first Trauma Care Center in District Headquarters Hospitals in Western Odisha.
Prominent dignitaries graced the inauguration ceremony, including Dr. Mahesh Mohan Panda, CDM & PHO, Jharsuguda; Aboli Sunil Naravane, Collector & District Magistrate; Deepali Das, MLA; Parmar Smit Parshottam Das, Superintendent of Police; and Anil Kumar Singh, President & Whole-Time Director of JSW BPSL. In an effort to lessen the effects of traffic accidents in the area, DHH, Jharsuguda has established a 10-bed Trauma Care Facility. This effort seeks to save lives and greatly lessen the degree of injuries incurred during such occurrences by providing quick and competent care for accident victims.
The newly established Trauma Care Center is equipped with an advanced Modular Operation Theatre, other medical equipment like ultrasound, CR system, Anesthesia machine, Digital X-ray etc. with other required civil works to provide immediate and efficient care to trauma patients. Speaking at the event, Anil Kumar Singh highlighted the importance of healthcare services & expressed his hope that the new Trauma Care Center would serve as a beacon of hope for the people of Jharsuguda and neighbouring regions. The setup will be capable of critical cases in the hospital.
He highlighted the fact the Trauma Care Center was started 1.5 years back as per the discussion with the Late Naba Kishore Das, former Health and Family Welfare Minister of Odisha and expressed his great satisfaction that his daughter Deepali Das- MLA, Jharsuguda has inaugurated the setup.
