In a significant push toward self-reliance in key industrial inputs, JSW Group has announced a major investment to set up a copper smelter in Odisha. The smelter, with a planned capacity of 500,000 metric tons, is expected to be operational by 2028/29 and will involve an investment of nearly Rs 12,000 crore (120 billion rupees). Why Copper?
