Kamakhya Express Mishap: Railway Track Repaired, Train Services To Resume Shortly

The railway track at Choudwar, the site of Sunday’s Bengaluru-Kamakhya Express derailing, has been repaired. Train services will shortly resume, according to the railway authority. Railway sources report that the repairs were finished by 7:15 a.m. today, and that train service on this line will shortly resume.

“In a swift and coordinated effort, railway teams have successfully restored the track at the accident site at 07:15 hrs. The dedicated Railway workforce worked tirelessly to ensure minimal disruption in train service and quick resumption of train operations”, read the release issued by East Coast Railway.

Notably, the Kamakhya Express disaster resulted in 11 injuries and one fatality. Emergency services, such as NDRF teams and Fire Services officers, hurried to the scene to begin rescue efforts. To evaluate the situation, senior railway officials also visited the location, including the GM of the East Coast Railway and the DRM of the Khurdha division.
