Keonjhar Gets ₹1,330 Crore Boost Under CM Majhi’s Initiative

After years of neglect, Keonjhar is set to become one of the country’s industrially prosperous districts. CM Mohan Majhi launched development projects worth more than Rs. 1,330 crore. 

 

On Wednesday, he launched the foundation stones for around 62 projects worth more than Rs. 704.38 crore and inaugurated 24 completed ones built at an estimated cost of Rs. 250.95 crore in Keonjhar district. Additional 101 projects were launched in the district measuring worth Rs. 374.91 crore. The CM said,

“The process for setting up a mega steel plant in the district is in the final stage and its foundation stone will be laid soon.”

Keonjhar received 25 e-buses, which were inaugurated alongside the ‘Aam Bus Depot’ built at a cost of Rs. 17 crore. The e-bus service is expected to cut carbon emissions by 330 to 390 tonnes annually, offering lower and middle-income citizens the comfort of fully air-conditioned travel at an affordable fare of just Rs. 5.
