Growing up, Rohit was greatly influenced by his father who was an established businessman during his heydays. His brother too was a successful entrepreneur. Thus, after completing his graduation, Rohit followed in their footsteps to create his own identity. Back then, there were only a handful of companies active in providing quality plumbing solutions to customers. Hence, Rohit decided to fill in the gap and founded Lingaraj Pipes Private Limited in the year 1999. The company started off by manufacturing high quality PVC pipes with different sizes and various pressure classes. As the demand for PVC pipes surged, Rohit decided to set up more sophisticated machines to manufacture different varieties of pipes, fittings and accessories. Since then he has never looked back. Rohit is being apty supported by his son, Shri Shivam Saraf, Director of Lingaraj Pipes. The young turk of the diversified Group joined his illustrious father’s company in 2017. Since then he has been playing a crucial role to scale up its operations across the state. While the ongoing pandemic stalled the operations of many companies across the globe, Rohit and his team too had to face the brunt of coronavirus. During the lockdown period, though the demand for PVC and HDPC pipes went down, the sale of biscuits was unprecedented. Because of the lockdown, there was an increased sale of packaged food items like biscuits. “While our piping unit was affected due to covid-induced lockdown, our biscuit sales registered a record growth. With most of the people staying indoors, the demand for biscuits skyrocketed,” said Shivam adding that they are mulling to expand their operations in the biscuit manufacturing sector soon.
Rohit, whose exceptional journey in the field of entrepreneurship has inspired many, urges the youngsters to follow their dreams by the dint of hard work, dedication and determination. “Work with integrity and be positive in your approach. Have faith in the Almighty and give it your all to reach the destination,” said he.
On being asked about the future plans, he says, “Our long-term vision is to bring a revolution in the plastic piping industry through innovative solutions which would create a profitable growth and benefit our customers & the society at large. We are keen on adding more products to our portfolio and strengthen our position as a market leader in the country.”
