At 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, the cyclonic circulation over the North Andaman Sea and the surrounding east-central and southeast Bay of Bengal was still in place. The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional center stated on Sunday night that a low-pressure system is extremely likely to form over the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent north Andaman Sea within the next 12 hours due to its impact.
It is quite expected to go west-northwestward, strengthening by October 22 morning into a depression, and by October 23 over the east-central Bay of Bengal, becoming a cyclonic storm. After that, it is most expected to continue northwest, arriving by October 24 morning off the shores of West Bengal and Odisha in the northwest Bay of Bengal.
