On Thursday, a fire in the Parvatipuram Manyam district of Andhra Pradesh completely destroyed a bus belonging to the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) of Odisha. No one was hurt. When the vigilant driver saw smoke, he stopped the bus right away, preventing a huge catastrophe. All of the passengers safely got out before the flames consumed the entire vehicle. The accident happened in the Pachipenta Mandal of the Partvatipuram Manyam district, close to Roddavalasa, at around 7.45 a.m.
The Odisha RTC bus was traveling from Visakhapatnam to Jeypore. At the time of the collision on the Andhra-Odisha Ghat Road, there were just five people. Police said the bus driver halted the vehicle as soon as he saw smoke coming from the engine. The passengers all got off when he warned them.
To put out the fire, a fire engine raced to the scene. But the bus was fully destroyed by the time the fire engine arrived. It was unknown what started the fire. Police began an investigation after filing a case. Gummadi Sandhya Rani, Minister for Women and Child Development and Tribal Welfare, asked officials about the disaster. She gave authorities instructions to carry out an investigation and submit the findings. Over the past few weeks, there have been several traffic incidents in Telugu states involving RTC and private buses.
