Manoranjan Mishra has been named Executive Director (ED) by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), effective November 01, 2023.
Mishra, an Odisha native, will oversee the Department of External Investments and Operations, the Department of Enforcement, and the Department of Risk Monitoring.
Mishra had previously worked for the Department of Regulation as the Chief General Manager.
His tenure at the Reserve Bank spans more than thirty years, during which he held positions in currency management, bank supervision, and regulation of both banks and NBFCs.
He has participated in the creation of regulatory and supervisory policies at the national and international levels as a member of multiple working groups.
Mishra holds an MBA in banking and finance and is a post-graduate in economics. He also graduated from Aston Business School in the UK with a master’s degree in finance and financial regulation.
