Odisha Minister for Persons with Disabilities Ashok Chandra Panda today inaugurated the Odisha Pavilion at the 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF), which began today at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
Every year, the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, organizes an international trade fair in Delhi. The Odisha pavilion, which embraces the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: United by Trade,’ embodies the spirit of ‘Unity through Trade. Odisha Pavilion has taken part, displaying the state’s rich maritime tradition.
The pavilion, which has 24 stalls divided into seven categories, features Kotpad saree, tasar silk saree, millet products, and the Koraput coffee shop. Handicrafts such as wooden and stone sculptures, paintings, sabai grass decorations, appliqués, and so on adorn the Odisha Pavilion. Aside from that, the handicrafts of two tribal communities are the main draw.
A massive boat is displayed in the pavilion’s center, alongside handicrafts, stone sculpture, portrait painting, and decorative items made from waste paper. The departments of Mission Shakti, Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, MSME, Tourism, SC and ST, Panchayatiraj, and Drinking Water participated in the Odisha Pavilion of the International event.
