The Nandankanan zoo is a pride of Odisha. Every day, the zoo attracts thousands of footfalls to have a look at the rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. However, as per the latest reports, the Nandankanana zoo has been temporarily closed.
As per the reports, the zoo has been shut down in order to ensure the safety of the visitors. Two wild elephants have been reportedly come out of their zone and are roaming around the zoo premise. Officials of Nandankanan and Chandaka Wildlife Division have been deployed to drive the elephants away.
The Zoological Park will remain closed until the wild elephants are safely removed. However, the Botanical Garden will remain open, informed Deputy Director Sanjeet Kumar.
