New vice chancellors are scheduled to be appointed at three prestigious Odisha universities: Gangadhar Meher University, Rama Devi Women’s University, and Utkal University. The selection process has been started by Raghubar Das, the governor of Odisha and the university chancellor. This month marks the conclusion of the present vice chancellors’ terms.
To ensure that academic operations at the state’s three top institutions are not hampered, the governor has instructed the Higher Education Department to accelerate and finish the appointment process as soon as possible. Notably, in 2020, Professor Ganeshi Lal, the governor of Odisha at the time, appointed vice chancellors (VCs) to six state-run institutions.
