Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the QS Asia University Rankings 2022 where IIT-Bombay (rank 42), IIT-Delhi (rank 45) and IIT-Madras (rank 54) are the top three Indian universities in the rankings and 118 Indian universities figure in the rankings.
According to the reports, Odisha’s National Institute of Technology-Rourkela (NIT-Rourkela) has slipped to a rank of 271-280 and the institute was ranked 250 in year 2021; 225 in year 2020 and 215 in year 2019. And for the first time IIT-Bhubaneswar ranked 251-260.
The report further added that the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) (ranked 401-450) and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) (ranked 451-500) also figure in the list. Both are located in Bhubaneswar. Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, is ranked 56 followed by IIT-Kharagpur (60), IIT-Kanpur (64) and University of Delhi (77).
IIT-Bombay secured an overall score of 71 out of 100 and the institute ranked 37 last year. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) are also in the top 200 this year.
In the Asia Top 10, five universities are from China. The National University of Singapore has secured the first position followed by Peking University at the second place and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, at the third position.
