Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurates the three lanes through video conference. The three southern lanes of the six-lane bridge were inaugurated on December 10, 2021.
The 1528-meter-long and 32-meter-wide six-lane bridge built parallel to the old
Koilwar bridge will ease the traffic snarls and make traveling easy for the
commuters coming from and going to Patna from south Bihar towns as well as
the eastern UP areas.
The bridge has been built at the cost of about Rs822 crore. It is part of the Patna-
Bhojpur-Buxar four-lane project. On March 17, Gadkari told Raja Saba member
and former deputy chief minister of Bihar Sushi Kumar Modi that the 92-km-long
Koilwar-Bhojpur-Buxar’s four-lane road is likely to be completed by the end of this
year. More than 72% of the work has been completed, Gadkari stated in his written
reply.
