Odisha BJP Targets Odisha Government Over Corruption In Mo Cycle Project

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has targeted the Odisha government regarding the alleged massive corruption in the ‘Mo Cycle’ project and sought clarification regarding the project.

As per the official reports, led by Bhubaneswar District BJP President Babu Singh, scores of party workers staged demonstrations and took out a rally from Sishu Bhawan chhak in Bhubaneswar. The party alleged that the bicycles which were procured for crores of rupees have been sold at a throwaway price as scrap.

Babu Singh stated that the Odisha Government sought to present a rosy picture before the people of Bhubaneswar through the ambitious Mo Cycle project and they spent crores on the project. But now the cycles are rotting in scrap yards.

He further added that apart from spending around Rs 5 crore for procuring the bicycles, the State government spent another Rs 1 crore towards their maintenance. The bicycles which were brought at Rs 25,000 per piece were sold for Rs 500 each and hundreds of such cycles are now lying at the Dumduma scrap yard.

The report further added there were no comments from the state government on these allegations by BJP.
