An important milestone was reached today when the Odisha Cabinet authorized the new “Mission Shakti Scooter Yojana” program. Due to the fact that empowerment via mobility is a key goal of the program, access to scooters will be made easier for Community Support Staff (CSS) and EC (Executive Committee) members of SHG federations. The move to sustainable mobility will be more inexpensive and accessible than ever before thanks to this program, which will provide qualified persons with full interest subvention on bank loans up to Rs 1 lakh for the purchase of a scooter of their choosing.
The Federation ecosystem has been established up to assist Mission Shakti SHGs at the local level, from the panchayat to the district level. Community Support Staff and SHG Federation Leaders offer essential assistance and support for training, financial inclusion, livelihood enhancement, and market linkage. The State Government has announced a “Interest-Free Loan for the Purchase of Scooter by Mission Shakti Federation Leaders and CSS” in celebration of their contributions to the empowerment of women, giving them more authority in their positions.
The effort will improve Mission Shakti Federation Leaders and CSS’s capacity to carry out their tasks successfully, boost efficiency, and broaden their community outreach by giving them inexpensive access to two-wheelers. Community Resource Person-Community Mobilization, Master Bookkeeper, Prani Mitra, Krushi Mitra, Bank Mitra, Livelihood Support Person, Community Resource Person — Enterprise Promotion, Udyog Mitra, and Business Development Service Provider including SHG members acting as Business Correspondent Agent make up the majority of the 75,000 Community Support Staff (CSS).
The new program will benefit close to 1,25,000 Federation Leaders, including Executive Members and Office Bearers of GP/Ward Level Federation, Block Level Federation (BLF), City Level Federation, and District Level Federation (DLF).
