Odisha Cabinet Okays Mukhyamantri Maschyajibi Kalyan Yojana

The State Sector umbrella program, Mukhyamantri Maschyajibi Kalyan Yojana (MMKY), was approved by the Odisha Cabinet on Wednesday. An official press release states that the program, which has 17 sub-schemes and a total budget outlay of around Rs 2239.00 crore, will be executed in the State from FY 2024–25 to FY 2028–29. In order to boost fish production and exports and raise fishermen’s income, this program intends to encompass all areas of fisheries, including freshwater, brackish water, and marine.

Over the next five years, the program will help about 14 lakh fishermen, comprising 6,67,500 fishermen and 7,32,500 WSHG members.
