The Odisha State Cabinet has authorized the launch of the state program “MAMATA” under the co-branding “MAMATA-PMMVY” starting on April 1, 2025, in conjunction with the federal government’s “Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana” (PMMVY).

Beneficiaries of the initiative would get Rs 10,000 for the birth of a boy kid and Rs 12,000 for the birth of a girl. For every live birth, women from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) would get Rs 10,000 for a boy and Rs 12,000 for a girl.

The scheme also increases the incentive amount for Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to Rs 250 and Rs 150, respectively. The eligibility criteria for the PMMVY scheme will be applicable to the MAMATA-PMMVY scheme. The state government expects to spend around Rs 2,670 crores on the scheme over the next five years.
