On Saturday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared that Mission Shakti Community Support Staff would receive a raise in incentives. Up to 59,509 Mission Shakti Community Support Staff will benefit from the change. An official press release states that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has increased the incentive amount for the Community Support Staff of Mission Shakti in order to recognize their exceptional commitment to women’s empowerment in the state.
Under Mission Shakti, there are up to 59,509 Community Support Workers, including MBK, CRP-CM, Bank Mitra, Prani Mitra, and Jeebika Sahayika. All Community Support Workers employed by Mission Shakti at the gram panchayat level would gain from the latest news. Starting in October 2023, the increased incentive amount will be applicable retroactively. In place of the previous monthly payment of Rs 6,750, MBK, Bank Mitra, and Jeebika Sahayika would now receive Rs 10, 750.
In a similar vein, Krushi Mitra and Prani Mitra would now receive Rs 6,250 per month as opposed to Rs 3,750. Additionally, CRP-CM would now receive Rs 6,100 as opposed to Rs 3,600. The State government has allocated an extra sum of Rs. 96.51 crore, even though it has chosen to pay the increased incentive retroactively starting in October 2023. It is important to mention that the Community Support Staff met with the 5T Chairman on his visit to the districts and asked him to consider raising the incentive amount.
