Today, on the auspicious occasion of Nuakhai, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik distributed aid to 44,56,000 farmer households via the KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) program. Patnaik distributed the help at a gathering that was video-conferenced. The Rabi crop has received this support. A sum of Rs 2,000 has reportedly been sent to each farmer’s family’s bank account, according an official press statement.
While 68,750 of the beneficiaries are landless farmer families, these beneficiaries also include 43,88,000 small and marginal farmers. At a celebration held to mark the anniversary, the Chief Minister wished everyone a happy Nuakhai and stated that farmers are our source of pride. He stated that he wants the farmers in his State to live proudly and with confidence. He continued by saying that farmers ought to share in the benefits of progress.
According to the Chief Minister, the KALIA program has so far distributed Rs 12,500 crore to farming households in the State. He expressed his desire for youngsters from farming households to pursue good careers such as those of physicians and engineers. They may honor their family and the entire State by doing this. The State government offers KALIA Scholarships to the children of KALIA beneficiaries, it is important to note here.
