On Monday, October 16, 2023, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will turn 77 years old. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in Odisha was notified on Sunday that the CM will not be celebrating his birthday this year owing to the passing of his older sister Geeta Mehta last month. As a result, the CM has also asked that his supporters refrain from calling to his Bhubaneswar home, “Naveen Niwas,” on Monday, October 16.
Due to the COVID-19 scenario, one of the longest-serving CMs in the nation decided to forgo his birthday festivities this year as well, just like he has done on other occasions since 2020. The chief minister missed the festivities the year before since he was in Hyderabad on an official trip to meet with businessmen on October 17 at the “Odisha Investors’ Meet.”
Naveen Patnaik, the longest-serving chief minister of Odisha, was born on October 16th, 1946 in Cuttack. He is the illustrious Biju Patnaik’s son, a former chief minister of Odisha.
Naveen attended school in Dehradun and received an arts degree from Delhi University. After finishing his degree, he went overseas and followed his vocation as a writer before entering politics. However, his life took a change when Biju Babu passed away in 1997, forcing him to assume control.
