Odisha Colleges, Universities To Hold Morning Classes During Summer

In preparation for the impending summer heat wave, the State Government has ordered all higher education institutions to hold lessons and exams in the morning. The Higher Education Department published a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in a letter to all universities and degree institutes.

Classes and exams will be rescheduled, ideally in the morning, in accordance with SOP in order to reduce exposure to heat-wave conditions. All universities will have plans for drinking water and Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS), and outside activities will be limited to afternoon sessions.

at addition, first aid supplies will be provided at colleges and testing locations, and tube wells and pumps within the institutions will be fixed as necessary. Institution leaders will also be in charge of educating students about the precautions to take during heat waves.
