Odisha Earns Rs 2,418.85 Cr From Iron Ore Exports To China In 3 Yrs

Steel and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena told the Assembly on Thursday that during the last three years, Odisha had sold 4,18,79,050 tonnes of iron ore to China, earning ₹2,418.85 crore.

In response to a question from Souvic Biswal, a BJD MLA from Choudwar-Cuttack, the Minister said that the shipments occurred between March 10 of the fiscal year 2024–2025 and the fiscal year 2022–2023.

Iron ore exports to China brought in ₹312.05 crore for Odisha in 2022–2023 and ₹1,086.96 crore in 2023–2024.

As of March 10, the state had already received ₹1,019.80 crore in income from the shipment of iron ore to China for the current fiscal year (2024–25), Jena said.
