Odisha Government Launches Unique ‘House Allotment System’ App

The Housing & Urban Development Department today launched the House Allotment System (HAS) under its ‘Housing for All’ policy. The unique app and website-based HAS was launched by Housing and Urban Development Minister Usha Devi.

According to the reports, as part of the initiative, Odisha Urban Housing Mission (OUHM) has developed a transparent and professionally managed web-based software solution as well as an android-based mobile application namely “House Allotment System”. The launching ceremony of the House Allotment System (HAS) was organized today by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and supported by OUHM.

The Housing and Urban Development Minister has congratulated the department for achieving a milestone in establishing a transparent and professionally managed system for allotment of Economically Weaker Section houses, through the web-based software solution.

The key objective of this allotment system is to generate predictability, and transparency and ensure social auditing. The system will work on the principle of a continuous process of registration of all those families, who want to avail dwelling units under the Housing for All policy. This application will also help address the challenges of housing in the state by assessing the housing shortage in various cities and planning accordingly.

The other features of this web-based application are Legacy Data Management and the Integrated Payments mechanism.

The legacy data management ensures cross verification of beneficiaries who have availed housing facilities through earlier government schemes whereas the integrated payment mechanism ensures hassle free online payment by the beneficiaries.

BDA Vice Chairman Sanjay Kumar Singh, BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange and others were present at the launching ceremony.
