The Go Green Portal, a green initiative of the Government of Odisha, was inaugurated today by the Odisha Energy Department. It aims to assist the growth of Renewable Energy in the state as required by OREP-2022 by offering a one window platform for RE companies. The webpage, created by GRIDCO, was introduced at the Kharavel Bhawan here by Nikunja Bihari Dhal, the chairman of GRIDCO and Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department, Government of Odisha.
ACS, Energy, which launched the website, claimed that it is an approachable platform and will make it easier for prospective producers of renewable energy to get approval for their projects. It will strengthen the system for keeping track of the approval of RE projects even further. This site will make it easier to examine and approve RE projects, and it will offer a safe and effective way to register, track, and communicate about projects. Additionally, it will make it easier for renewable energy projects to be developed, implemented, and maintained throughout the state.
The state’s key agency for putting the Odisha RE policy into effect is GRIDCO. With a total investment of Rs. 762.39 crore, 7 Solar PV projects have been authorized, totaling 202.27 MW in capacity. Additionally, the single window committee has given the go-ahead for studies to be conducted in order to establish a 49.50 MW wind project in Deomali Hills in Koraput, with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 375 cr. Senior officials from the Energy Department as well as EIC cum PCEI, MD-OPGC, Director (R&A)-OERC, Director-SLDC, MD and Directors of GRIDCO, CE-OREDA, CEO-TPCODL, and others were present.
