The state government has revised the daily target for COVID vaccination for all the districts and Bhubaneswar urban region. In an official order to district collectors, municipal commissioners and CDM&PHOs, additional chief secretary, Health department Pradipta Mohapatra informed that the vaccination target has been revised after taking into account the feedback from the collectors and expected vaccine supply from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
According to the reports, Ganjam district has been set the highest target of 35,000 vaccination, followed by Puri with 26,000 and Cuttack and Balasore with 25,000 each daily. Bhubaneswar Urban will vaccinate 7,000 people taking the state’s total daily vaccination target to 4,13,000.
Pradipta Mohapatra further added that while the MoHFW supplies all syringes for the COVID vaccination programme, it has been found that the vaccine supply is made earlier than the syringes, causing a temporary shortage of syringes.
