The integrated reconstruction plan for the Bhubaneswar railway station and the planned road network design must be submitted for approval to the relevant regulatory agencies and departments, according to a directive from the state of Odisha to East Coast Railway (ECoR).
To examine the integration of traffic movement from the proposed nearby metro rail station with the Bhubaneswar railway station and to report their findings to the railways as soon as possible, the Commerce and Transport department has asked ECoR to provide the railway station redevelopment drawings with a road network. To guarantee that the roads being developed are planned for easy traffic circulation in the Master Canteen area with good access to the railway station, the railway zone will similarly need to submit the proposed road network plans to the Works department for review and approval.
ECoR has been requested to provide the reconstruction plan, which has already been authorized by the railways, to Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), following a recent high-level evaluation of the integrated renovation of the Bhubaneswar train station by chief secretary PK Jena. The vice chairman of BDA will review the need for any further approval after the proposal has been submitted. An extra drain for directing rainfall to a neighboring main drain and the parking plan on BDA’s property at Master Canteen Square have also been requested, according to a senior official.
