Odisha Government to appoint 11K high school teachers by June end

The Odisha government will appoint over 11,000 teachers in secondary schools across the State by the end of this month, informed School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash. The Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE) is entrusted with the recruitment process for selection of as many as 11,403 initial appointee teachers.

According to the reports, Minister Samir Ranjan Dash stated that the teachers would be given their offer letters in a programme in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Over 1,700 teachers will be recruited in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs).  The recruitment process is being undertaken to fill up altogether 1749 Principal and other teaching and non-teaching posts.

He further added that about 8000 schools will be transformed in the State. In a bid to raise standard of education, the government will transform 8,000 high schools in the first phase following which primary schools will get facelift. Besides, efforts are on to sort out discrepancies related to the teacher recruitment. Out of 8,000 high schools, 5,000 high schools’ transformation will be carried out in the first phase. The government will host a programme in Jajpur district on June 10 to mark beginning of the second phase renovation process of remaining high schools. Adarsha Vidyalays will also get facelift soon.
