In accordance with the proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the Odisha institutions Act, 1989, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, in his position as Chancellor, named Vice Chancellors for 14 institutions in Odisha on Monday.
Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy has been named Vice Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University, Prof. Arka Kumar Das Mohapatra will lead Ravenshaw University, and Prof. Chandi Prasad Nanda has been named Vice Chancellor of Utkal University, according to an official press release from Lok Bhavan. Prof. Byomakesh Tripathy will be Vice Chancellor of Gangadhar Meher University, while Prof. Sanjaya Kumar Patro has been nominated to head Dharanidhar University.
Professors Asima Sahu of Khallikote Unitary University, Sibaram Tripathy of Madhusudan Law University, and Pawan Kumar Agrawal of Maa Manikeshwari University were all named vice chancellors, according to the announcement. Prof. Jyotsna K.B. Rout has been named Vice Chancellor of Rama Devi Women’s University, while Prof. Mahendra Kumar Mohanty will lead Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University. Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra has been appointed Vice Chancellor of Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University, while Prof. Bibhuti Bhusan Malik will lead Rajendra University.
Prof. Satyanarayan Acharya will head Odia University, while Prof. Hrushikesh Senapaty has been named Vice Chancellor of Vikram Dev University. The Chancellor wished all of the recently appointed Vice Chancellors the best of luck and expressed his belief that they would make a substantial contribution to bolstering academic leadership and influencing the direction of higher education in the state.
