Odisha Govt Again Extends Aadhaar-Based e-KYC Deadline For Ration Cards

The Aadhaar-based e-KYC procedure for recipients of the National and State Food Security Schemes would remain open till December 31st, the Odisha government said on Sunday. The e-KYC verification is being conducted at 11,827 Fair Price Shops (FPS), 314 Block Offices, and 64 Urban Local Body (ULB) Offices, where Ration Card Management Centers are now in operation, according to a news release from the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department.

The agency clarified that failure to complete the e-KYC process will not result in the denial of food security assistance to any qualified recipient. People who haven’t finished the verification process are still receiving their monthly Public Distribution System (PDS) goods.

Before the deadline of December 31, 2025, ration card holders who have not yet finished the e-KYC verification procedure for any reason can visit the Fair Price Shop or Ration Card Management Center that is closest to them to do the Aadhaar-linked verification. According to authorities, the decision to extend the deadline is intended to protect the rights of all qualified recipients during the continuing verification process while guaranteeing accuracy and openness in the distribution of subsidized food grains.
