Odisha Govt Announces Ground Breaking Subsidy Scheme At Global Stainless-Steel Expo 2023

The Odisha government has launched a comprehensive special subsidy program to support the state’s stainless-steel industry. This declaration, which was delivered during the opening of the Global Stainless-Steel Expo 2023 (GSSE 2023) in Mumbai, has strengthened Odisha’s will to establish itself as the world’s “Stainless Steel Destination.” On Thursday, dignitaries including Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of Odisha’s Industries Department, Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of Jindal Stainless Ltd., Aruna Sharma, Member of the GSSE Steering Committee and Former Secretary of the Ministry of Steel, and Anitha Raghunath, Director of Virgo Communications and Exhibitions, officially opened the GSSE 2023 event.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to state that stainless steel is everywhere; even for a major event like the G20, stainless steel decorated the highways, according to Abhyuday Jindal in his inauguration speech. Whether it was the security barricades or the art installations of Lutyens Delhi, stainless steel was everywhere. The Chandrayaan-3’s recent soft landing on the moon was a momentous occasion to see stainless steel reach the moon. According to a press release, he also mentioned the industrial park his business is building in Odisha. He claimed it is the country’s first stainless steel industrial park and has the goal of bolstering the sector.

‘India’s Amritkal’, a special report on stainless steel by SteelMint, was launched during the occasion. The research claims that the residual effects of weak local and international demand made it difficult for the stainless-steel sector to achieve balance. The research emphasized that by FY23, when it reached roughly 3.5 mnt, the Indian stainless-steel sector had fully recovered. SteelMint’s predictions for the future are fascinating; they predict that demand will increase to 4.5 mnt by FY25.
