Odisha Govt Directs All Universities, Colleges To Remain Open On March 5

All degree institutions and state public universities, both government and non-government, will stay open on March 5 (Wednesday), according to an announcement made by the Odisha government. The Higher Education Department issued a notice on Tuesday confirming this decision. According to the official announcement, on March 5, all of the department’s higher education institutions (HEIs) would operate normally.

“In inviting a reference to the subject cited above, I am directed to inform you that all HEls coming under the Higher Education Department shall remain open on 05.03.2025 (Wednesday),” the notification read.

Additionally, all government and government-aided schools in Odisha would also be open on the same day. It is crucial to note that March 5 was historically recognized as a public holiday in Odisha to commemorate Panchayati Raj Dibas. In keeping with national custom, the state administration has chosen to reschedule this observance for April 24. On Monday, the modification was announced.
