With effect from July 18, 2024, the Odisha government has published a notification raising the state’s minimum salary for laborers. Workers in scheduled occupations who are unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, or highly skilled would now receive daily minimum pay of Rs 450, Rs 500, Rs 550, and Rs 600, respectively.
On July 10, 2024, the State Cabinet accepted this decision, which complies with the 1948 Minimum Wages Act. Workers in the state’s planned occupations will profit from the higher earnings.
