The Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch (IRCS-OSB) has sent relief supplies to four flood-stricken districts of the state as part of a humanitarian effort to provide urgent aid to those impacted by flooding. On Tuesday, Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati signed off on the delivery of relief supplies from Lok Bhavan to the impacted households in the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, and Jajpur. Tarpaulins and wholesome dry food packages are included in the assistance shipment to help families impacted by the floods with their urgent needs.

 

Governor Dr. Kambhampati expressed gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided by the Red Cross and emphasized the significance of increased involvement in social service and disaster management by young Red Cross members and youth volunteers. He exhorted people to actively participate in relief and humanitarian efforts, especially in times of emergency and natural catastrophe. The Governor was informed by Red Cross representatives about the organization’s and St. John Ambulance’s numerous initiatives during the program. They also told him about the creative projects and excellent programs they had seen in Gujarat and Punjab.

 

Additionally, the Governor spoke with Youth Red Cross and Youth for Service volunteers, asking them about their responsibilities and actions in humanitarian aid and social service. During the conversation were Swayam Prakash Baral, an executive committee member of the IRCS, Odisha State Branch, Secretary Ganesh Chandra Patra, Joint Editor Ashok Kumar Mohanty, and Junior Red Cross Officer Laxman Swain.
