Odisha Hospitals Allowed Hiring Of Vehicles To Monitor Implementation Of Health Schemes

For the purpose of seeing how various health programs are being implemented by the program officers of various hospitals around the State, the Odisha Health and Family Welfare department has provided provisions to lease automobiles. Health Secretary Shalini Pandit claimed that the government has permitted the hire of automobiles for official usage to oversee the correct execution of health programmes in a letter to the CDMOs, PHOs, SDHOs, Capital hospital director, and RGH- Rourkela.

“For providing adequate logistic support to CDM&PHOs, SDMOs and Medical Officers of AD/JD rank posted at district level and given charge as Programme Officers under different Programmes and Schemes, Government has been pleased to allow hiring of vehicles as indicated in the table below for official use to monitor proper implementation of Government Programmes,” the letter read.

For each District Headquarters hospital, Capital Hospital, RGH-Rourkela, and Sub-divisional Hospital, two cars each have been allocated. According to the official, each hospital is permitted to employ 96 cars in total. The letter further stated that the responsible head of the healthcare institutions has been requested to adhere to the proper procedure set forth by the Finance Department for vehicle hiring.
