BHUBANESWAR: In a powerful example of inter-state industrial collaboration and entrepreneurial vision, renowned Odisha-based industrialist Tara Ranjan Patnaik, Founder and Managing Director of the Falcon Group, is all set to inaugurate a world-class frozen potato processing facility in Mehsana district of Gujarat on Sunday, 18 May 2025.
The facility, under the banner of Falcon Agrifriz Foods Private Limited, represents a major leap forward for India’s value-added food industry. With this milestone, Patnaik becomes the first entrepreneur from Odisha to establish a major agri-food industry in Gujarat, one of India’s most industrially developed states.
The high-profile inauguration ceremony will be graced by top dignitaries, including Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, who will attend as Chief Guest, and Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel as Guest of Honour. Also expected to attend are Gujarat Industries Minister Balvantsinh Rajput, MP Haribhai Patel, and MP Mayankbhai Nayak.
The cutting-edge facility, located in Sadra, Taluka Kadi, Mehsana, has been designed with the latest European processing technology to produce a wide range of vegetarian frozen foods. These include French fries, potato wedges, hash browns, patties, and nuggets, under the group’s rapidly growing brand Just Crave.
The project is being spearheaded by Parthajeet Patnaik, Director of Falcon Agrifriz Foods, who has played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and executing the group’s vision of transforming India’s frozen food industry.
With a strong legacy of over four decades in the frozen foods sector, Falcon Group is known for blending tradition with modern food technology. The Gujarat plant is set to serve as a national production hub, powering both domestic and export supply chains.
What distinguishes Falcon Agrifriz is its integrated model that prioritizes responsible sourcing, farmer partnerships, and eco-conscious operations. The facility will deploy methods to minimize carbon emissions, ensure zero-compromise food safety, and promote inclusive rural growth through direct farmer engagement.
This cross-regional industrial initiative reflects a new chapter in India’s economic landscape—where visionaries from one state are investing and innovating in another, uniting regions through enterprise, employment, and empowerment.
The grand inauguration on May 18 is expected to draw national attention from the food processing industry, policy makers, and business leaders, highlighting a proud moment not just for Gujarat, but also for Odisha’s dynamic entrepreneurial spirit.
