Few days before, Odia Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) ASI Somanth Mohanty who had stopped Salman Khan at Mumbai airport gained a lot of limelight. The incident led to many speculations that the ASI was rewarded and some reported that he was penalised for speaking to the media.
But finally, the incident has come to a full circle as Mohanty was neither penalised nor rewarded for the incident. Earlier, reports suggested that he was penalised for speaking to media, to which the CISF tweeted that the officer was suitably rewarded for exemplary professionalism.
But DIG Anil Pandey, Chief Public Relations Officer, CISF, cleared all the speculations and stated – “Someone shot a video of Salman Khan at the airport and a rumour was spread that the CISF personnel who stopped him was taken to task, hence we had to clarify on Twitter. It was ASI Somnath Mohanty who was on duty, and as per security protocol at the airport, he stopped Salman Khan and asked him to get security clearance. Every passenger has to go through the same procedure.”
