An important meeting regarding Odisha Panchayat Election will be held today. The State election commission will hold a virtual meeting regarding the norms that will be set up for Odisha Panchayat Election. Moreover, the meeting will be held by all the SPs and District Collectors of the state.
The meeting will also be attended by the Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Home Secretary, DGP, Health Secretary and Secretary to the Panchayati Raj.
The main concern of the meeting will be the COVID protocol. The district collectors need to make a joint master plan to ensure that the elections are held following the safety of people and social distancing, thereby strictly maintaining the COVID protocol as India as well as Odisha is in the ongoing phase of COVID third wave.
During the meeting, the focus will be given on the safety of ballot paper till it reaches the respective polling stations and also on the security of voting box.
Similarly, the information provided by the candidates will be closely scrutinized.
