After the Severe cyclonic storm ‘Yaas’, Odisha is now preparing for possible flooding in the Subarnarekha River system amidst the ongoing restoration works as stated by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), Odisha, Pradeep Jena.
Pradeep Jena informed that Jharkhand released water from Galudih Barrage for which flow has increased in Subarnarekha River. At 6 AM on May 28 the water level at Jamsolaghat was flowing at 50.88 metres against the danger level of 49.16 metres.
The SRC added that Balasore Collector has done a tremendous amount of work day and night to mitigate the problems to the extent possible and he later also praised the Collector and his team for their quick response.
