Odia is now the official language used for all departmental operations within the Rural Development Department. An order has been issued by Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh requiring the usage of Odia for all purposes. He ordered that all correspondence and office records, official minutes of meetings, resolutions, orders, and departmental communications be published in Odia.
Cabinet memos will be released in both Odia and English, but Odia will be given precedence over English in all other official correspondence. With the intention of encouraging the use of Odia in official communications, the instruction has been sent to all officers, field officers, senior engineers, and staff members.
