According to an official release, the Odisha government and the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal Trust (SVKM) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of an educational institute in the state at a cost of Rs 300 crore. In the presence of Higher Education Minister Atanu S Nayak and Chief Secretary PK Jena on Tuesday, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by SVKM Trust secretary Jayant Gandhi and Higher Education Commissioner/Secretary Aravind Agrawal. NMIMS University will be established by the SVKM in Bhubaneswar’s Info Valley. On December 7, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will dedicate the institute.
For the university’s construction, the state government has leased 40 acres of land in Goudakashipur, Jatni. According to the statement, 30 percent of the institute’s seats will be set aside for deserving students from the state.
“This collaboration between the Odisha government and the SVKM represents a transformative initiative in expanding educational horizons in the state by establishing a world-class educational campus near the temple city of Bhubaneswar catering to diverse academic needs,” Nayak said.
