Odisha continues to witness a sharp decline in the daily COVID cases after huge jumps due to the third wave. For the first time in nearly a month, the number of daily positive cases has gone below 6000. In the last 24 hours, as per the reports of I and the PR department, Odisha witnessed 5891positive cases.
Out of the 5891 cases, 842 are from age groups 0-18. As per the regular trends, Khorda recorded the highest number of cases with 1500 persons testing positive followed by Sundargarh reported 501 cases and Cuttack 482 cases.

However, in the last 24 hours, 7 deaths have been reported due to COVID. The details are discussed below-
1. A 72 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
2. A 54 years old Female of Dhenkanal District who was also suffering from Rheumatic heart disease, Multiple sclerosis, Aortic regurgitation & Derived Forearm Vascular Resistance.
3. A 62 years old Male of Jajpur District.
4. A 60 years old Male of Jharsuguda District.
5. A 10 days years old Male child of Kendrapara District.
6. A 51 years old Female of Khordha District.
7. A 88 years old Male of Khordha District who was also suffering from Hypertension.
