Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan prompted investors to invest in the development of ports in Odisha, whose coastline will be the hub of maritime trade.

During the speaking at a session on ‘Investment Opportunities in Odisha’ at the ongoing Maritime India Summit 2021 which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pradhan requested all the investors to invest in the development of ports in Odisha as soon as the coastline will be the hub of maritime trade.

During the event, he invited the potential investor to take the advantage of business opportunities in Odisha as the state will be the gateway of a global maritime network of trade and commerce. He further stated that Odisha has natural harbors, rich natural resources, a long coastline, and skill-able and hardworking manpower and is uniquely poised to be part of India’s Aatma Nirbhar journey and contribute to the country’s target of becoming a USD 5 trillion economy.

While talking about the maritime history of Odisha, Pradhan added that Odisha has a rich maritime history, and thousands of years ago navigators of the state used to sail to different parts of the globe. In the future, Paradip is going to be the gateway of growth of the eastern part of the country. Kalinganagar is being developed as a steel hub, visualizes becoming a self-contained ecosystem, and will enable the potential investors for setting up value-added downstream facilities.
