Ollywood actor Sabyasachi Mishra earlier helped thousands of people during the Lockdown period of the COVID-19 pandemic and won many hearts for his humble initiative towards Odisha’s helpless people. Yet again, he took another step where he sends coconuts offering from devotees to Maa Taraini Temple at Ghatagaon, Keonjhar.
Mishra collected around 35000 coconuts on Kartika Poornima lying on the roadside and sent those to Maa Tarini Temple in approximately two trucks. These coconuts were collected from Baramunda bus stand, CRP Square, Fire Station, Acharya Vihar, Vani Vihar, Rasulgarh in Bhubaneswar, and Cuttack, Chandikhol, and Panikhoili.
The purpose was to make the environment clean, and even because of the pandemic, the coconuts were not able to send to Maa Tarini temple, which was lying at the collection points along the roads. Because of the getting infected with the virus, the bus drivers were not collecting the coconuts from the day the Coronavirus pandemic started. Mishra collected all the coconuts and decided to give it to the original destination as many devotees offer coconut as a symbol of praise and offerings to the deities.
In his official social media, Sabyasachi said, “Coconuts were lying abandoned like mountains at street corners and bus stops. It not only compromises devotees’ emotions but also hampers the beauty and aesthetics unhygienic. I feel blessed that finally after eight months, all the coconuts, the offering of devotees, piled up in the twin cities have been moved to Ghatagaon by trucks. By doing this, my Kartika Purnima was spent well.”
