The Commissionerate Police has issued a restriction on the sale of firecrackers for Diwali. Only license holders can sell firecrackers in Cuttack, informed DCP Pinak Mishra.
There was a crackdown on the sale of firecrackers last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, the traders are hopeful of a good business. They are to set up temporary shops at earmarked places.
The traders will get permission to sell firecrackers after submitting the necessary papers. Only licensed shopkeepers can sell firecrackers. Strict action will be taken against violators, said the DCP.
