In recognition of its efforts and actions taken in the areas of primary data center management and cyber security, OPTCL won the eighth PSU IT Award in the categories of Data Center Excellence and Digital Security Leader (CISO) for the year 2023. The team got the awards in Delhi on December 7, 2023, at an event hosted by Governance Now and Priyadasan Patra, CGM(IT).
Additionally, OPTCL, which was organized by ABP-INFOCOM, was given the 2023 INFOCOM Change Makers Award for IT Innovation. At the ceremony on December 1, 2023, at the ITC in Kolkata, Manoj Kumar Behera, General Manager (IT) and Chief Information Security Officer of OPTCL, was presented with the award.
OPTCL’s IT Department is leading several creative IT initiatives to ensure efficient business operations. OPTCL, a state PSU, maintains a tire-3 Primary Data Center that is certified ISO 27001:2013. The IT department worked on several IT projects involving cutting-edge technologies such as business warehousing, robotic process automation, enterprise resource planning, and business intelligence. Recently, the department used a drone (UAV) to inspect power line assets.
