Cuttack: In the assembly elections 2024 Orissa High Court today upheld a lower court’s verdict,electionsTrouble mounted for Congress leader Mohammed Moquim ,which had sentenced him to three years of imprisonment in Odisha Rural Housing Development Corporation (ORHDC) in loan scam case.
Mohammed Moquim also had three years of rigorous imprisonment in the loan scam case by a Special Vigilance Court in Bhubaneswar.
High Court of odisha had granted bail to the Cuttack MLA and Congress leader Mohammed Moquim on November 24 in the ORHDC case. It is noteworthy that on October 2 2022, Barabati-Cuttack MLA and Congress leader Mohammed Moquim had moved Orissa High Court against the verdict of Special Vigilance Judge.
The court also sentenced three others to three years jail.
including the former IAS officer and Managing Director of ORHDC, Vinod Kumar, Company Secretary, ORHDC Swosti Ranjan Mohapatra, and realtor Peyush Mohanty, Director, Metro Builders Pvt Ltd ,sources informed.
