Over 13 Crore Pilgrims Take Holy Dip So Far in Mahakumbh 2025

As the huge festival of Mahakumbh 2025 is being celebrated with tremendous passion and excitement, attracting believers in Sanatan culture from all walks of life across the nation and the world, more than 13 crore pilgrims have taken the holy bath on the banks of Sangam thus far. Another wave of pilgrims gathered along the banks of Sangam on Sunday. It is expected that lakhs of people participated in the holy plunge. According to statistics, more than 1.74 crore individuals participated in the holy dip on Sunday until 8:30 p.m.

13.21 crore pilgrims took the sacred plunge of faith up to January 26. According to the data, the number of pilgrims who took the holy plunge on January 25 was 11.47 crore, therefore the figure on Sunday was significantly higher than on Saturday. In addition, more than 10 lakh Kalpavasis used the sacred bath until Sunday. Samajwadi Party leaders and workers were also present along with Akhilesh Yadav. In the Sangam, Akhilesh Yadav bathed and gave the Sun “Arghya.”

Later, interacting with the mediapersons, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said: “I have taken a total of 11 dips. Let’s take a resolve today that a positive message should come out of the Mahakumbh. Whenever we remember Kumbh, the spirit of harmony, goodwill and tolerance always remain. I had earlier taken a bath in Haridwar, and today I got a chance to take a bath in Sangam.” Meanwhile, a sea of devotees has started converging in Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh ahead of Mauni Amavasya, the biggest snan (bathing day) of the two-month long mela.
