PM Inaugurates India Energy Week 2024 In Goa

The event will take place from 6 to 9 February in Goa, the event is envisioned to manifest India’s energy transition goals

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi inaugurated India Energy Week 2024 in Goa on Tuesday. India Energy Week is India’s largest energy conference and exhibition that will deliberate to utilise India’s energy supply chain and emphasise the country’s goal to become a green economy.

PM Modi mentioned his government’s vision to reduce fossil-based fuel and announced “We are working towards the installation of 5000 Compressed Biogas Plants in India.”

He reiterated that India ranks fourth in the world in Renewable Energy Installed Capacity.” 40 per cent of India’s installed capacity comes from non-fossil fuels.

In the same direction, the government is also striving to uplift the usage of green hydrogen in the form of the National Green Hydrogen Mission which is anticipated to make India a hotspot of hydrogen production.

He also reminded India’s vision to become net zero emission by 2070 and said that India is committed to further improving our Energy Mix by focusing on the development of environmentally sensitive energy sources.

About India Energy Week 2024, the Prime Minister, said, “The India Energy Week event is not just India’s event but a reflection of ‘India with the world and India for the world’ sentiment.”

The event will take place from 6 to 9 February in Goa, the event is envisioned to manifest India’s energy transition goals. The event is expected to host participants from across the world; 17 energy ministers, around 35000 attendees and 900 exhibitors who will showcase innovative solutions for the energy sector.
